Thanks to generous donations from Angel Night sponsors, otherwise underprivileged children and their families will have the chance to enjoy a gratis performance of The Nutcracker at Symphony Hall December 11th.
Each season, Ballet Arizona offers a special showing of the Nutcracker, called Angel Night. Over two thousand tickets are paid for by donations from “community angels” -- ticket buyers, subscribers, corporate and private donors. Ballet Arizona and these sponsors share a passion for the community, children, and their exposure to the Arts. Recipients of Angel Night gifts are clients from more than 150 service organizations; including children and their families from community centers in disadvantaged neighborhoods. This year’s Angel Night is made possible the generous support of grants and individual support from the community.
Without essential gifts from the community, this evening would not be possible. The cost to sponsor a child at Angel Night is $30. Gifts can be made on-line at http://www.balletaz.org/index.taf?mnid=support&smid=0
Since the Angel Night outreach program began in 2001, it has been a huge success and equally delightful experience for those who attend. Ballet Arizona also offers a second Angel Night performance of our June 2009 production, The Best of Balanchine. Ballet Arizona’s vision of community outreach and education has played an important role in many aspects of the organization.
