KPNX-TV and azcentral.com is seeking a Connect Desk Editor (formerly assignment editor) for our Information Center. Candidates should understand electronic news gathering technology; have strong news judgment; have excellent organizational and problem solving skills; can juggle multiple tasks; and can work with a team on identifying and responding to spot news events. Candidates should also have the skills to gather news via the internet; to connect with viewers and users in non-traditional ways; and to develop systems to manage viewer and users contacts for use on appropriate digital platforms. Candidates should have three to five years experience on an assignment desk or as a photojournalist in a major or larger medium market. 12 News staff members contribute to the station website and other multimedia efforts, including editing video and other digital media. Knowledge of Phoenix and Arizona helpful. Bilingual in Spanish helpful. A Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field is preferred.
