POSITION OPENING: TV and Online Traffic Reporter

KPNX-TV and 12news.azcentral.com the Gannett multimedia team in Phoenix is looking for a TV and online Traffic Reporter for our morning and evening newscasts with additional duties delivering information in web casts and other digital media. This person will present traffic information from an anchor desk, in chromakey, and in the field and is required to complete duties as assigned. This position is scheduled as a split shift. Traffic reports are scheduled at least three times per half hour in morning and evening TV newscasts using mapping software, traffic cameras, and aerial video, so the ability to work quickly under deadline pressure is a must. Successful candidates will have a minimum of three years of traffic reporting experience, preferably in TV; operational proficiency in traffic mapping and operating systems; a demonstrated record of success working in a team environment. Desktop editing skills using server-based digital video systems like AVID/Unity are required. 12 News staff contributes to the station website and other multimedia efforts, including editing video and other digital media. A degree in journalism or a related field is preferred. Knowledge of Phoenix and Arizona helpful. Bilingual in Spanish helpful.
