Teen killed in ATV accident

A north Valley teenager was killed when an ATV he was riding in flipped over. The accident took place on 102nd Avenue near Jomax in Peoria.

MCSO investigators say 5 boys were riding in the ATV when the accident happened. The boy killed was apparently hanging out of the ATV on the driver's side when it flipped. Deputies say the ATV landed on the boy, crushing his chest.

"It's horrible, it's horrible," said neighbor Sarah Updike. People in the area say they see teenagers riding around here all the time, "They go zooming up and down these roads," said Updike.

The accident happened on a private road so it appears no laws were broken. It is against the law to ride an ATV on a county or city road without a license. Neighbors say the boy killed is 14 or 15 and is a freshman at Liberty High School.

The 4 other boys were injured but are all expected to be okay.
