The pollen levels drop a bit this weekend.
Happy Friday everyone! Fall-like weather is moving in today, as temperatures drop, clouds increase, and strong winds can be expected.
Wind advisories are in effect for much of the state. This includes the Phoenix metro area, where the advisory starts at 10am today, and lasts through 6pm Saturday. Winds in these areas are expected to get up to 15-30 mph, with gusts over 40.
The High Country also has wind advisories in effect until 11pm tonight. A High Wind Watch is in effect for this evening through Saturday, as windy conditions are expected to continue. Winds in these areas could gust up to 55 mph. Take caution when driving on I-17 or I-40, especially in a high profile vehicle.
With the increase of winds, and drier conditions moving in behind our storm, there’s an increase in fire danger for parts of the state. A Red Flag Warning is in effect for parts of Mohave County from noon through 10pm Friday. A Fire Weather watch is in effect for parts of Pinal County, as well as Maricopa, La Paz, and Yuma Counties for Saturday.
Valley weather
Low pressure pushing into the west will bring strong winds to the Valley by late morning which are expected to last through Saturday. A wind advisory is in effect due to strong southwest winds at 15-30 mph, with gusts that could be much higher. Temperatures are coming down for your Friday as well, with Valley highs ranging from 86-91. Clouds increase throughout the day, and by tonight, we pick up a slight chance of showers.
The best chance of rain showers in the Valley is on Saturday, where we pick up about a 30% shot. Otherwise, expect partly to mostly cloudy skies on Saturday with continued winds and cooler temperatures. Skies clear out on Sunday, but we have a chilly start, where high temps aren’t going to warm up much, only warming into the 70s. A nice fall weekend ahead, so get outside and enjoy it!

State Fair Forecast: Fall-like weather for the first weekend of the fair!
Saturday: Highs: 75-80 Lows: 57-67
Sunday: Highs: 73-78 Lows: 45-55
High Country weather
Wind advisories are in effect for the High Country on Friday until 11pm, where winds are expected to get up to 25-35 mph, with gusts near 55. A High Wind Watch is in effect for this evening through Saturday for those folks up north as well. Otherwise, Partly cloudy skies and cooler temperatures can be expected today, with highs ranging from 59-69. By tonight, there’s a slight chance of rain showers in the High Country, and even snow above 9,000’. No accumulation is expected.
Snow levels will drop to around 7,000’ by Saturday, as cooler air filters into the state from the north. Still, no accumulation is expected, but there is a continued chance of rain & snow showers on Saturday. Temperatures will drop down into the 40s, to near 50, with very strong winds continuing on Saturday. Much quieter weather is expected Sunday, as winds die down, partly cloudy skies remain, and temps warm a tad. Be prepared for Sunday morning though, as a chilly start is expected!
