A shooting in the East Valley that led to a SWAT team standoff ended Saturday morning in Apache Junction.
John Joseph Zeiter was arrested after police say he may have shot 45-year-old Mario Moreno Friday night near Gilbert and Elliot roads.
According to police, Zeiter fled the scene after shooting Moreno in the shoulder. The two reportedly had a falling out that escalated to a physical fight.
Moreno was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police were able to track down Zeiter Saturday morning at an Apache Junction residence. When Zeiter refused to come out, a SWAT team was called.
Zeiter was later arrested and booked on two counts of aggravated assault.
