Early voting started Thursday, but East Valley residents who cast ballots in person before Nov. 4 will have to do it in Mesa or Tempe.
Early voting polling places in the southeast Valley are:
• Maricopa County Recorder, Mesa office, 222 E. Javelina Drive.
• Tempe Public Library3500 S. Rural Road.
City and county officials have said they expect a big turnout for this election, which will pick the next president, determine the outcome of several propositions and select state, county and local officials. Chandler was required by a new state law to move its municipal election from spring to fall and is the only southeast Valley municipality to have city council candidates on this ballot.
Residents who vote by mail should receive ballots soon; they were to be mailed out Thursday, said county spokesman Richard DeUriarte. Deadline to register to vote on Nov. 4 is Monday.
