Groups schedule forums for candidates, on issues

It's election season, and Nov. 4 is less than seven weeks away.

Many groups are holding forums to keep you, the public, informed. Here are a few.

If you have a forum to publicize, go to azcentral.com/community/nephoenix/, scroll down to News By You, click on Citizen Reporter and fill out the form.

2 forums feature PV board hopefuls

Two opportunities are scheduled next month to hear the four candidates vying for three seats on the Paradise Valley Unified School District governing board.

The first forum is at 10 a.m. Oct. 15. The United Parent Council hosts a forum after its 9 a.m. monthly meeting at the district office, 15032 N. 32nd St., in the Community Resource Center.

Another forum will be 7 p.m. Oct. 21 at Sandpiper Elementary School, 6724 E. Hearn Road, Scottsdale. It is sponsored by B.E.S.T. - Desert Shadows Middle School feeder group.

Voters are encouraged to attend one of the forums to learn about the candidates who will become part of the board and have an impact on education.

Appearing with the candidates on the Nov. 4 ballot are two budget override measures.

Madison candidates appear Thursday

Madison's Citizens Advisory Committee and the Madison District Classroom Teachers Association will host a public forum Thursday for the public to meet the governing board candidates.

The forum is from 6 to 8 p.m. in the district office, 5601 N. 16th St.
