Sunnyslope candidates forum is Wednesday

The Sunnyslope Village Alliance will host a candidate forum at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Arizona Italian American Club, 7509 N. 12th St.

Candidates for Maricopa County District 3 supervisor, county sheriff, county attorney, Districts 10 and 11 for the state Senate and House and the Arizona Corporation Commission have been invited.

At a similar alliance forum in July, about 250 people attended to meet the candidates and question them.

Jim Mapstead, president of the Sunnyslope Village Alliance, said citizens are welcome to submit questions.

"We're nothing in Sunnyslope if not interested in the issues," Mapstead said. "It gives people an opportunity to ask questions and meet the candidates face to face, which I think is huge."
