Lake Pleasant Regional Park hosts workshop on local wildlife, plants

Discover some of the native wildlife of the Northwest Valley as Lake Pleasant Regional Park, 41835 N. Castle Hot Springs Road, hosts two informational activities.

On Friday, interpretive ranger Terry Gerber will host "Learn About Wildlife," an interactive trivia game amid the beauty of Lake Pleasant. The program runs from 2 to 3 p.m.

On Saturday, Arizona Game and Fish will present "Mammals of Lake Pleasant," talking about the diverse fauna of the park, from pocket mice to mountain lions. Some of the furry critters native to the area will be on display. The program runs from 2 to 4 p.m.

Reservations are not necessary for either program. Park admission is $5 per car.
