Peoria road closures for festival

The following roads will be closed tonight in downtown Peoria for the OldTown Holiday Festival:

• 83rd Avenue from Peoria Avenue to Monroe Street.

• Washington Street from 84th Avenue to 83rd Avenue.

• Jefferson Street from 84th Avenue to 83rd Avenue.

•  Madison Street at 83rd Avenue.

•  Monroe Street at 83rd Avenue.

The festival runs from 5 to 9 p.m. at Osuna Park, 10510 N 83rd Ave., and along 83rd Avenue.

Events include the lighting of the town Christmas tree, a battle of the school choirs and a gingerbread-house contest. Santa might even stop by.
