Two men were found dead in a car early Friday after a shooting in the street at University Drive near Interstate 10.
The killings apparently are connected to vehicles that had been chasing each other through the area, according to a police spokesman.
The victims, both in their 30s, were found dead in a Dodge Caliber around 2 a.m. Friday.
Both passenger-side windows were shattered and appeared to have been shot out.
The car apparently veered across the median, and came to a halt on the sidewalk east of University Drive after hitting a tree.
Police said at least two dozen bullets were scattered across the road. Local offices had also been hit in the shooting.
Police have shut down University Drive from 35th Street to Elwood Street while they investigate the shooting. Further details were not immediately available.
