Police were searching a Phoenix neighborhood Tuesday for one of four men who allegedly broke into a home and attacked one of the occupants during a robbery attempt.
The three other men were arrested, police said.
A man, woman and baby were home at the time of the incident, which happened just before 2 p.m. in the 1300 block of North 36th Drive.
The male occupant was struck over the head with a hammer and was treated on scene by Phoenix Fire with minor injuries, said Officer Jon Howard of Phoenix Police. The woman and child were uninjured.
All the men were dressed in black, and at least two were armed with handguns, he said.
The suspects, who entered through an open back door, demanded property from the occupants, he said.
Police, acting on a call from a neighbor, arrived while robbers were still there, Howard said.
One of the robbers fled through the back door when police arrived.
