Man, 73, critical after car crashes into wall

A 73-year-old man was critically injured Tuesday after losing control of his car at an apartment complex near 83rd Avenue and Thomas Road in Phoenix.

The man was driving a blue 2001 Ford Crown Victoria through the complex at a high rate of speed around 10:23 a.m. Tuesday, according to a police document. While making a turn, the man lost control of the car and crashed into a parked car and a wall. The man was critically injured in the collision.

Police have identified alcohol or drugs as a possible factor in the crash.
