ADOT sends news via e-mail

The Arizona Department of Transportation has launched an e-mail subscription service that lets users choose the information they want to receive.

A variety of topics is available through the new system. Users will receive e-mail updates when new information is available on ADOT's Web site for Valley freeway corridors, weekend freeway restrictions, news releases and State Transportation Board meetings. This new system not only lets users choose the topics that interest them, it instantly notifies them that new information is available. For weekend freeway closures and restrictions, wireless alerts are also available, sending information directly to a user's cellphone.

More topics continue to be added, including additional freeways under study, highways around the state and information from other ADOT divisions, such as Motor Vehicles, Aeronautics and Multimodal Planning.

To sign up for the free service, visit www.azdot.gov and click on the "Email Updates" button. Once you select the topics you want to receive electronic information about, you'll get a confirmation message. It's that easy. You'll be notified when new information is updated on the specific Web pages to which you have subscribed. If you do not want to receive these updates, simply log in and unsubscribe.

"ADOT is looking at innovative ways to better connect to our customers, providing them with customized information to make their commute quicker or to help them track a nearby highway construction project," said Matthew Burdick, the director of ADOT's Communication and Community Partnerships Division.
