3 Mesa men accused of robbing catering truck

Pinal County Sheriff's deputies arrested three Mesa men accused of stealing energy drinks and cash from a mobile catering truck on Tuesday.

Daniel Barraza, 22, Andres Olivas Cigala, 24, and Gerrardo Valenzuela-Navarro, 27, were arrested on suspicion of armed robbery, aggravated assault and other felony charges.

The men are accused of robbing a woman at gunpoint as she operated a mobile catering truck in the Pecan Creek neighborhood east of Queen Creek, near Penny Lane and Sandy Drive, around noon on Tuesday.

The woman, who was not identified, told deputies the three men flagged her down. When she opened the truck to sell them drinks, one of the men demanded money.

She refused, but one of the suspects pulled a gun and she gave them an undisclosed amount of cash.

The men then took several energy drinks and drove away in a green four-door sedan with a spoiler, according to PCSO.

A deputy located and apprehended the described vehicle at Bella Vista near the Brooks Turf Farm.

Deputies found evidence of the crime and arrested the men. They were booked into the Pinal County Adult Detention Center.
