The average for regular gasoline in Arizona finally fell below $2 a gallon.
The average in Arizona was $1.91 on Monday, $1.11 less than the average of $3.02 just one year ago, according to AAA.
Only the District of Columbia and three states - New York, Hawaii, and Alaska - remained over $2 with Alaska averaging the highest in the nation at $2.75, according to AAA.
In the Valley, averages ranged from the lowest in the state at $1.82 in the East Valley to the second highest in the state at $1.96 in Scottsdale, according to the Automobile Association.
Prices were expected to continue to drop as they have for the past five months, according to AAA Arizona, possibly reaching prices as low as $1.50.
