Gilbert NFL veteran teaching speed training

Submitted by Derrick O. Martin, managing partner, Sugchairo Moi & Martin

In the world of athletics, there is definitely a need for speed.

Bryan Gilmore, an 8 year NFL veteran and one of the fastest men in the National Football League can contest to quickness and speed being a critical factor in sports.

Gilmore, a Texas native who now resides in Gilbert, began his professional career as a wide receiver with the Arizona Cardinals and has since played for the Miami Dolphins and San Francisco 49ers.

In today's competitive sports market, college and professional scouts scour the country looking for that premier athlete with quickness and speed. Running a 4.4 as opposed to a 4.6 in the 40 yard dash can be the difference between an athletic scholarship or a multi-million dollar contract, hence the creation of Athletes by Design.

As the founder and director of Athletes by Design, Gilmore is using his off-season to take on the challenge of facilitating speed training at Tumbleweed Park located in Chandler.

"An individual's speed and quickness can be improved upon with the proper work ethic and training. Each individual may need different attention but for the most part I spend about an hour a day, two days a week with my clients," said Gilmore.
