Loop 101, U.S. 60 drivers to face road work

SCOTTSDALE - Drivers who use Loop 101 through Scottsdale and U.S. 60 through Tempe during the overnight hours should allow extra time through Friday morning.

Crews are continuing construction to add new lanes along both freeways. The Arizona Department of Transportation urges drivers to be patient, slow down and use caution while the following restrictions are in place:

• Southbound Loop 101 (Pima Freeway) narrows between Cactus Road and Shea Boulevard from 11 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday and again between Cactus and Shea from 11 p.m. Thursday through 5 a.m. Friday.

•  Westbound U.S. 60 (Superstition Freeway) narrows to two lanes between McClintock Drive and Mill Avenue from 9 p.m. Wednesday through5 a.m. Thursday and from 9 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday. The westbound on-ramp at Rural Road is closed each night.
