New design center will be eco-friendly

FOUNTAIN HILLS - Global Surroundings LLC is opening an eco-friendly, furniture design center in Fountain Hills.

The design center will include indoor and outdoor reclaimed teak furniture and recyclable woven resin furnishings.

"We felt Fountain Hills was the perfect area to introduce this unique concept", said JL Jackson, president of Global Surroundings.

"Consumers in the East Valley appreciate high-end, original furnishing for their homes. People are looking for a relaxed, comfortable environment with a commitment to sustainable living for generations to come.

"We have been promoting sustainable furniture solutions for 10 years now in residential and commercial applications. Now just in the last few years, our discerning clients are appreciating eco-friendly furnishings without sacrificing design and comfort."

Global Surroundings' Design Center will cater to interior designers for both residential and commercial projects with custom, made-to-order furnishing solutions for the high-end marketplace.

The center will be open to the public by appointment. It's located at 16730 E. Palisades Blvd., Suite 107.

"Climate change around the world is real and it is happening every day," Jackson said. "The furniture industry historically has been responsible for harvesting our forests.

"We are at the forefront of the movement to utilize reclaimed teak wood from old buildings in Indonesia."
