Training designed to give youths an advantage

SCOTTSDALE - Sports Specific Training, being offered at the Scottsdale-based Valley of the Sun Jewish Community Center by professional baseball player Beau Milner, provides children with the extra confidence they need to succeed in life and in sports.

The program is a sports-specific, one-on-one personal training advantage.

"We offer a program for baseball, softball, basketball, football, golf and soccer," said Milner, who works with aspiring young athletes during the off-season.

"Pro athletes have been using personal Sports Specific Training for years to help push themselves to the next level of competition, so they can be at the top of their game when it matters the most. Many trainers are former pro athletes who know what kind of effort and training it takes to be elite."

The program is split into three critical areas - skill, speed, and strength and power. When children enroll, they're assessed in all areas to determine what aspects need the most work.

The JCC builds connections to the community in a setting that enriches physical, mental and spiritual growth. It also is open to all people, regardless of age, race or religious preference.

The JCC is at 12701 N. Scottsdale Road.
