SCOTTSDALE - The Phoenix office of Grant Thornton LLP, the U.S. member firm of Grant Thornton International, recently announced that managing partner Ed O'Brien, a Scottsdale resident, has been named a 2008 Centers of Influence honoree.

"I am honored to be recognized as an influential leader within the profession and the community," O'Brien said. "It's also a great recognition for Grant Thornton since the firm is, and continues to be, a great place to work.
"I could not have received this award without the efforts of my partners and all of our talented people."
O'Brien has worked in the public accounting industry for more than 33 years and has been with Grant Thornton for the past six years. He is a certified public accountant licensed in Arizona, New Mexico and Ohio, and is active in the Association for Corporate Growth, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Greater Phoenix Leadership Group.
