SCOTTSDALE - The Scottsdale Area Chamber of Commerce recently announced the hiring of Jody McPhearson as account executive in support of member services.
McPhearson will focus on new member acquisition while working with existing members and committees in fulfillment of their needs.
Before joining the chamber, he worked for Kaplan University as an admissions adviser responsible for guiding prospective students through the enrollment process.
McPhearson also was a sales manager for Bill Heard Chevrolet for more than four years. A champion of community service, he was the catalyst behind the implementation of a community involvement committee, where he functioned as the community relations chairman.
Before working at the dealership, McPhearson worked for the Allendale Association in Lake Villa, Ill., as a therapeutic recreational specialist, where he developed a passion for caring for others, serving a population of emotionally, physically, and mentally disabled teenagers.
McPhearson is involved with Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Phoenix, continuing a long tradition of community service with several other non-profit and social organizations. He moved to Scottsdale from Chicago in 2002 with his wife, Kristine. They have four children ages 5 to 18.
