Golf group donates $10k to kids' hospital

SCOTTSDALE - The Scottsdale-based Southwest Section PGA recently announced that it has donated $10,000 to the Phoenix Children's Hospital Foundation.

Curt Hudek, executive director of the Southwest Section PGA, said the money was raised through the Scottsdale City Junior Championship, which was conducted earlier this year at Kierland Golf Club in north Scottsdale.

Founded in 1961, the Charros were created to promote special events in Scottsdale for the Scottsdale Area Chamber of Commerce.
