Horseshoe Trails' Rambo feted

CAVE CREEK - The Cave Creek Unified School District is highlighting Horseshoe Trails Elementary School Kindergarten teacher Sherri Rambo.

Here's what Principal Janiene Marlow had to say about her:

Rambo is an extraordinary teacher who leads her team to the highest of expectations for our first-year students.

She has been instrumental in creating a unique program in kindergarten that will enhance the learning of each child.

She loves to sing her way through a lesson, and it is always a symphony in her room of 5-year-olds.

Rambo is a specialist in early childhood education and reading. As a master teacher she brings the know-how for developmentally-appropriate lessons for kindergartners and the love of learning to each lucky student in her class.

Students describe her as "warm and fuzzy, but we work real hard."

Rambo loves teaching because she gets to "touch the lives of children and help them take away wonderful memories of school."

Student Brayden Reach said, "She is a good teacher. She has a writing center and plays with the blocks. At circle time she smiles at me."

She is a wife and mother of two Cactus Shadows High School students.

Achievements: While teaching in Orange County, Fla., she was recognized as an outstanding teacher by Disney World. She was also recognized as the Orange County School district Employee of the Quarter.

Number of years teaching: 16.

Number of years at district: 3.

Number of years at Horseshoe Trails: 3.
