The Arizona Department of Revenue will help conduct courses for Surprise retailers on taxes.
What
The first workshop addresses taxability issues within the retail classification. Deductions and exemptions for retailers will be defined and discussed. The second workshop guides retailers through the transaction privilege tax (TPT) reporting form. The determination of tax rates and use of various forms will be covered. Sample problems and factoring worksheets will be provided. Topics covered First workshop: Arizona Revised Statutes, Arizona Administrative Code, the exemption certificate (Form 5000), tax rate tables, program vs. non-program cities, and the use tax. It is recommended that this class be taken before the second workshop.
Second workshop: Documents such as tax rate tables, the transaction privilege tax return, and the exemption certificate (Form 5000). Bring a calculator.
Details
The workshops cost $15 each. They will take place Dec. 9 at the Northwest Regional Library, 16089 N. Bullard Ave. The retail workshop will be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon. The transaction privilege tax workshop will be held from 1:30 to 5 p.m.
