New business pampers and perfumes peoples' pets

A pet grooming and boarding facility named Shauna's Paw Spa and Pet Boutique has opened on the southeast corner of Bell and Reems roads.

The opening did not come quickly or easily. Shauna has always had a love for pets. Her work on her bachelor's degree at both Michigan State University and Arizona State University at the West campus focused on animal studies. While completing her bachelor's degree, she worked at several grooming establishments before starting Shauna's Mobile Dog Grooming in November 1999.

Her philosophy of making sure every customer and pet was happy with her service has evidently worked, since she has more than 350 clients using her mobile dog-grooming business almost nine years later.

On May 6, Shauna opened Shauna's Paw Spa & Pet Boutique to better serve her clients. The shop is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday to meet the needs of her clients.

In addition, she offers doggy daycare daily for pet owners needing that service. Since client needs guide her business, the shop provides grooming services in a timely and less stressful manner. She wants the whole grooming experience to be pleasing for both pet and owner.

Shauna and her employee's believe in giving back to their community. They volunteer for the local rescue organizations in the area. They provide free grooming to pets that need to find a home, and provide a 15%-off service for the first grooming for new adoptive pet parents. Shauna's Paw Spa and Pet Boutique also offers a military discount of 5% off any service.
