Surprise seeking proposals for potential future uses of old City Hall

Diane Arthur-Grialou, public information officer for Surprise, submitted this announcement to local businesses.

Surprise has issued a request for proposals concerning the current City Hall facility, as the city prepares to move into its new City Hall next summer.

Here a few details about the current City Hall:

• 58,000 square feet of net rentable area in four separate buildings.

• Located on approximately 6.5 acres of land.

• Located on the south side of Bell Road, west of El Mirage Road, where as many as 70,000 to 80,000 vehicles pass by daily.

• Grant funding may be available for the assistance of rehabilitation or Americans with Disabilities Act compliance.

• Numerous incentive benefits, as the facility is within an infill district in the city's Original Town Site.

The city will vacate the current City Hall facility by July 1 and move into its new building next to the Public Safety Building in Surprise Civic Center.

A pre-proposal conference is today at 8 a.m. in City Hall Council Chambers, 12425 W. Bell Road. Proposals for use of the facility are due by noon Nov. 7 to the Surprise Economic Development Department, 12425 W. Bell Road, Suite D-100, Surprise, AZ 85374.

Copies of the RFP are available at www.surpriseaz.com, via the Economic Development and Purchasing Department Web pages. For additional information, call Jeanine Jerkovic at 623-222-3322 or by e-mail at jeanine.jerkovic@surpriseaz.com.

A recommendation to the Surprise City Council is scheduled for December.
