McDonald's throws in sweet treat to help Toys for Tots

West Valley residents can help needy children and get something sweet in return.

Anyone who donates new, unwrapped toys to the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve's Toys for Tots at one of 16 West Valley McDonald's will receive a free ice cream cone. Donations also are being collected at Hilgers Pediatric Dentistry, 14425 W. McDowell Road, and Hilgers Orthodontics, 1646 N. Litchfield Road. The toy drive kicks off today.

Donations will go to Valley children as Christmas gifts. Last year, Toys for Tots distributed toys to more than 7 million children around the nation.

In Goodyear, participating McDonald's are on 870 N. Dysard Road, 13870 W. McDowell Road, 1100 N. Estrella Parkway and 632 N. Estrella Parkway.

In Litchfield Park, the McDonald's at 13018 W. Indian School Road will take donations. In Avondale, the McDonald's is at 13055 Rancho Santa Fe and in Buckeye, 1060 S. Watson Road.
