Avondale mom arrested on suspicion of killing infant

An Avondale woman was arrested on suspicion of killing her 11-month-old infant Tuesday.

Police responded to a report that a child wasn't breathing at 6:30 p.m. at a house in the 1000 block of South Fourth Street near Lower Buckeye Road and Litchfield Road in Avondale.

Police said the infant had a head injury.

Paramedics arrived on scene and found the infant non-responsive. She was then transported to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.

After obtaining a search warrant and interviewing those in the home, police arrested the mother Ubaldina Limon-Sanchez, 26, on suspicion of second-degree murder.

According to police, the infant's two older siblings were placed in the custody of Child Protective Services.

Police are asking anyone with information to call the Avondale Police Department at 623-333-7001.
