William Zick, 3, squealed, "Fishy! Fishy!" as his dad Brad helped the lad dump a net full of trout into Tempe Town Lake Tuesday.
Scores of fishing enthusiasts were on hand to see more than 3,500 rainbow trout put into the lake. The younger set was able to help dump the fish into the drink.
"I can't wait to catch one!" laughed Nancy Ramirez, who was there with her fishing pole and bait.
Trout fishing continues throughout the fall and winter months at Town Lake.
Arizona state law requires a fishing license for everyone age 14 years and older. Anglers fishing for trout with a Class A license must also have a valid trout stamp.
Fishing licenses can be purchased at any Game and Fish office or one of 370 license dealers statewide. Youth ages 13 and younger are not required to have a fishing license or to be accompanied by a licensed adult.
