New toys collected for charity

The Women's Social Club is collecting new, unwrapped toys for Christmas to be distributed to children through local non-profit organizations.

Toys can be dropped off between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Dec. 5 at the Women's Social Club room in the Kuentz Recreation Center, 14401 R.H. Johnson Blvd., Sun City West.

There will be refreshments, a festive decor and entertainment by some of the children of the Nadaburg School in Wittmann. Information: 623-214-5466.

Rider tips ease use of bus service

Directors of the Sun City West Foundation urging rider patience with the new Sun City West bus system, noting that efforts are being made to provide smooth service despite "minor tribulations" common with new services.

Riders are encouraged to call a day in advance to schedule rides. Same-day bus service will be based on availability, with priority given to previous reservations and medical appointments.

Bus tickets can be purchased from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Sun City West Foundation Building, 14465 R.H. Johnson Blvd., Sun City West or aboard the buses. Bus fares are $3 per trip. To schedule a ride, call 623-544-3020.

Holiday sale at local golf shops

The Recreation Centers of Sun City West's seven golf courses are offering a holiday sale from next Friday through Dec, 25. The pro shops will be open Christmas Day.

The sale offers 25 percent off all clothing, hats, caps and towels and 20 percent off all golf bags, shoes and in-stock clubs, excluding Ping. The sale includes Grandview Pro Shop, 14260 Meeker Blvd. Info: 623-544-6013.
