Seftel: Humble Pie to expand

The slumping economy is causing many restaurant owners real anguish this summer.

But not Tom Kaufman. He’s getting ready to expand.

His latest venture, Humble Pie, is so successful that he’s opening a second branch. He has just taken over Bravo Pizzeria, at The Shade at Desert Ridge, a small retail complex across the street from the gigantic North Phoenix mall.

He’s hoping to launch by December.
