YUMA - The FBI has joined an investigation trying to find out who hung a noose on the mailbox of a former Yuma County supervisor who is Black.
The noose was spotted by a Yuma Sun carrier on June 11 hanging from Ray Moore's mailbox.
Capt. Eben Bratcher of the Yuma County Sheriff's Office says the FBI and sheriff are investigating the case together.
Moore served as a county supervisor in the 1980s and says has no idea who is responsible for the noose, which is a symbol of racial lynchings.
