Baby critical after family dogs attack him

A boy, 18 months, was in critical condition Monday after at least two of the family's dogs attacked him.

The toddler was playing with the family's five rottweilers outside by himself near Seventh Avenue and Broadway Road when at least two of them attacked him, police said.

The boy was bitten more than 10 times and was in extremely critical condition at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center around 5 p.m.

Animal Control took two of the dogs.

Phoenix police were investigating why the boy was alone with the dogs. CPS was not involved.
