Peoria Chihuahua places in San Diego race

Peoria resident Tiffany Di Giacinto's Chihuahua, Kahlua, placed in the top 10 at the Petco Unleashed race held Sunday at Petco Park in San Diego.

Despite starting late in the race because of difficulties hearing the announcer, Kahlua finished fifth, sixth or seventh in the two-second race, Di Giacinto said. The race was over so quickly that judges had trouble ranking each dog, she said.

Di Giacinto said she is looking forward to having Kahlua participate in next year's competitions.
