Adoption event planned Oct. 12 for homeless pets

More than 20 animal rescue groups will be at the Phoenix Animal Care Coalition (PACC911) Adopt-a-thon on Sunday, Oct. 12 aiming to get dozens of dogs, cats and other house pets into a good home.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Bark Avenue Pet Supply, 3109 E. McKellips Road, in Mesa.

All of the animals available for adoption are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, evaluated and ready to become a new member of someone's family. Of course, the group points out the pets are just adorable.

Event sponsor Bark Avenue Pet Supply will provide adopters a package of discounts and freebies from Bark Avenue Pet Supply and Bark Avenue Pet Resort. A raffle, benefitting PACC911's Emergency Medical Fund, is also planned

The PACC911 Emergency Medical Fund (EMF) provides financial aid to non-profit animal welfare groups needing assistance with special medical costs.
