Arizona State football will scrimmage at Camp Tontozona on Aug. 16 and hold the rest of its preseason practices on campus, outdoors at the Kajikawa practice field or indoors in the practice bubble now under construction.
Practice begins Aug. 4 with the first pads practice on Aug. 8. The team will go to Camp Tontozona outside Payson after practice on Aug. 15 then scrimmage from 11:15 a.m.-1:45 p.m. in the pines before returning.
"We're honoring ASU's great Camp Tontozona tradition by holding the annual scrimmage there for everyone to enjoy," second-year coach Dennis Erickson said.
ASU's indoor practice facility is expected to be completed in early August. The bubble with FieldTurf and relocation of the band field is an $8.4-million project funded through private donations.
A scrimmage at Sun Devil Stadium and fan appreciation day will be 7-9 p.m. Aug. 21.
ASU begins its season at home against Northern Arizona on Aug. 30.
