Cross new hoop coach at Flowing Wells

Daron Cross was hired as the new boys basketball coach at Tucson Flowing Wells.

Cross was head coach at Vail Cienega for five years. He took the team to the Class 4A Division I tournament twice.

Last year, he began the season helping out at St. Augustine Catholic in Tucson, before taking over midway through.

One of Cross' Kino Region in 4A-I next season will be Cienega.

"I feel there is a lot of potential at Flowing Wells," Cross said. "There's a good group coming back. I'm looking forward to it."

Flowing Wells went 13-16 last season under Jacob Marin.
