Spicy Steak with Drunken Mushrooms

2 (6 ounce) beef filets or boneless rib-eyes
2 teaspoons coarse-ground steak seasoning (such as McCormick "Montreal" style)
1 teaspoon butter
1 package (8 ounces) sliced mushrooms
1 green onion, chopped (green part only)
1/4 cup red wine

Preheat grill to medium-high. Sprinkle seasoning on both sides of steaks, pressing it to adhere. Grill steaks 4 to 5 minutes per side. Meanwhile, melt butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add mushrooms and green onions. Cook, stirring occasionally, until tender, about 5 minutes. Add red wine and cook until absorbed, 1 to 2 minutes. Serve mushrooms over steak.
