Want the taste of a chili cheeseburger without all the mess? It's easy when you mix the chili sauce into the meat and hide the cheese inside the burger.
1 pound extra-lean ground beef
1 tablespoon chili powder
2 tablespoons chili sauce or ketchup
1/4 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
4 hamburger buns
Heat grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Combine beef, chili powder and chili sauce or ketchup. Mix well, and shape into 4 balls. Make a hole deep into the middle of each, and stuff 1 tablespoon cheese into the hole. Flatten ball to make a patty. Grill until cooked through, about 4 minutes per side for medium. Place on buns and top with more chili sauce or ketchup, if desired.
Makes 4 servings.
